The Concept

After getting initial feedback and thoughts from my peers in a discussion of my personality traits and certain things both friends and other peers. The initial thought process was broad considering aspects of my personal style looks and personality that could be approached for my brand. Then on a broader scale i started thinking about which aspect of a project I like the most to generate some alternative concepts such as the initial brainstorming and idea process development or final outcome stage. I reflected that i enjoy the end process the best tying everything together which helped me think about how I can get to the final stage through my thought process. 

After brainstorming my thought process I also began to think about my dream job or project as a way of branding myself in relation to my career aspirations. This included my 'girly' personality and my fantasy and love of weddings even from a young age. I have always aspired to be able to link my career in some way to weddings. The event planning and overall aesthetics and effort that comes with wedding and wedding planning. Ideally I would love to work in editorial magazines for bridal or high fashion like Vogue. For the more bridal and wedding interest I would love to design wedding stationary which also spurred my idea to create my self brand in a party or wedding favour. Allowing my self brand to interact with others and perhaps stand out against a regular business card. I also liked how this idea could include the humorous aspect of my personality by including funny puns that perhaps relate to the favour. I love puns myself and they match a similar sense of humour whilst also proving more interesting and intriguing as a brand as humour is an effective way of creating a successful brand.

Brainstorming Session

The initial thought process for this brief was discussed in groups of our friends and people that knew us before getting initial thoughts about ourselves from people who did not know us as well.

These initial thoughts gave us a starting point towards the concept of the brief. Brainstorming helped record a broad range of ideas without limiting the thought process. 

Self Branding: 29 Things I learnt talk

'Mr Bingo' stopped being commercial artist and worked for himself doing freelance. This gave me further insight into presentations and gave an example of successful presenting. Enabling me to acknowledge it's ok to have a broader approach to career goals. We constantly learn and develop skills so it's ok to have a starting point and work from there. New skills and techniques may be inspirational to an alternative career approach further down the line.
