Influences of Art Forms - Art, Music, Film & Graphic Design

REFLECTING THE INFLUENCES AND BACKGROUND 

ART HISTORY 

There are a range of influences in everyday life that influence art and artists. However some things influence us more than others. So much variety within not just art but everyday life can inspire us, such as events our imagination our life, perception and thoughts. There are a few areas that can be considered the top influences they include politics, this reflects an interest of society and can include needs and desires. Another is the natural elements or everyday movements or growth factors. Finally technology is a huge factor as it is constantly changing and can change how we view things. It is important to realise that all art has context and is not just made to be beautiful or aesthetically pleasing it is influenced by history and all art has history - I.e. a meaning behind it. 

MUSIC 

Like other elements music can be influenced by a range of things. We can also interact with it as music can connect with a couple of our senses such as touch and hearing. A lot of people believe most of your taste in music is influenced by the music we were exposed to at an early age. So therefore again history and background greatly influences another aspect of the arts. 

FILM 

A huge influence of film was technology. Film has always had a huge impact on people and can be used for a range of things such as mass communication, influence on culture, advertising and or marketing, creating culture or providing fantasy. Values personal and ethical also hugely influence film. However this are only a few examples of the influences. 

GRAPHIC DESIGN 

A huge influence of Graphic Design is Context and history all work like art has a meaning and has been influenced by some form of background, person or already recognised work.  The greatest influences however involve history and technology. A key part of how designers work involves turning a problem into an answer.
