Research Ideas : Favours

I chose to research existing party favours as inspiration for my own brand. I thought party favours would create an interesting concept and format to advertise or promote my brand instead of a simple or boring business card which most businesses use to promote their brand. Instead playing with puns in combination with party favours creates a more friendly, memorable interactive and even personal approach with others.

I researched existing examples of favours, and existing examples that use puns. These inspired my idea sketches and have been altered to fit with my brand. The quick sketches below show some of my ideas which I will aim to make in a practical physical form before my presentation.

Below are some examples of existing party favours influential to my ideas:

Interesting containers/boxes with ribbon

Stickers on a product such as chocolates or mints

Products I need to purchase to produce these ideas:

- pink or red ribbon
- jars
- tic tacs
- chocolate buttons
- foiled chocolate hearts
- matches

Feedback : Perhaps make the ideas more personal and reflective of yourself...

After receiving peer and tutor feedback it gave me the idea to develop these ideas further making them more personal and reflective of myself within the brand. Perhaps by spelling out the inspired personality traits of the brand using chocolates, including childhood photographs graphically altered to fit the sophisticated style on the labels. Or possibly feature and play on the aspect of my Northern Irish Nationality, using only objects associated with Northern Ireland to create the favours. This creates an alternative more personal approach.
